An Intervention

I pulled the column I originally wrote because this one is more important

I had something else planned for this morning, but it has come to my attention that an intervention is necessary. 

Important information about you has come to light that you don’t seem to know or fully understand. I thought you knew all along, but maybe you just need a reminder. In any case, deep breath, here goes.  

You are amazing. You are beautiful. You are loved. You are a wonderful friend. The world is a better place because you are in it. You are treasured. You are important. You are held dear. You matter. Your work matters.

Please, stop doubting and second guessing yourself. Your constant questioning of your worth is only holding you back and depriving the world of the glorious spectrum of your awesomeness. 

If there is a voice in your head telling you otherwise, that voice is not your friend. Stop listening to it. Drown it out with music, loud music. Dance and sing the voice away. 

Fuck that voice. You are a queen. Or king. 

You are a Rockstar. But not the kind that trashes a hotel room, the kind that inspires people to sing and dance and feel alive and pump their fists in the air and hold up lighters because words fail them. 

You are that great. 

Go forth. 

Be awesome.

Know you are loved.
