Today’s mix tape addition is a” free space.” Not like a parking space or outer space, but like bingo—the spot in the middle that asks nothing of you, and gives you a bit of a boost.
This time, I’m choosing some songs to add to your joy mix. These songs should be part of any playlist designed for dopamine. I understand that Sweet Caroline can be problematic for people, add it or don’t. I come from people who dig Neil Diamond.
These late 20th century classics, when mixed in with your other faves, will always bring a tap to your toes and a smile to your face.
Wake Me Up Before You Go Go, Wham
Build Me Up Buttercup, The Foundations
Dancing Queen, Abba
Blister in the Sun, Violent Femmes
Sweet Caroline, Neil Diamond
September, Earth Wind and Fire
Girls Just Wanna Have Fun, Cyndi Lauper
Don’t Stop, Fleetwood Mac
Tubthumping, Chumbawumba
Now that I’ve found you, The Foundations
Every good mix needs some proper cover art. Perhaps that’s not your thing, we’ll talk about that at a later date. In the meantime you can use this cover I made for us (it’s as easy as right clicking on the image above, scroll to save image to downloads, then head to your music platform of choice, edit your playlist info, and you can change or add the picture there.)
Wanna listen to what I have so far? Here’s the spotify version. Apple music is kind of being an asshole right now, I’ll post link soon.
I’m so excited with what I have to share with you on Sunday!
I’m always open to ideas, suggestions, shenanigans, tomfoolery, collaborations, cheese, snacks, and field trips.
