Over the course of my life, I’ve been privy to the evolution of personal photography. I was born in a time of flip-flash Instamatics, then saw a variety of different Polaroids before coming of age in the era of the high-tech Disc camera. In my twenties, nothing said “this night is going to be epic” like the presence of a disposable camera. 

Film was expensive. Developing was expensive. Printing was expensive. That made every image precious--even the shitty ones. 

And then those two thrilling words at the developing kiosk: FREE DOUBLES.
