Oh hey, hi!
Listen, it’s a gorgeous weekend. It’s fall. It’s a new moon.
I don’t want to take up a ton of your time and fill your inbox.
But I have an important question to ask you and I want you to ask me questions back:
How are you doing with your meditation practice?
For reals…
Do you even have one?
Do you want one?
If you don’t have one but want one, what is holding you back?
Time? Feeling awkward? You don’t know how? Do you think it sounds hard and scary?
Are you curious?
Are you sick of hearing about how meditation can reduce stress, control anxiety, improve memory, and attention span, help control pain, enhance sleep, and generally increase positive feelings?
I know this reads like an ad, it is 100% not an ad. I’m not selling anything. Meditation is free. It’s actually pretty easy. I’m trying to figure out how I can help you to incorporate meditation into your daily practice.
Let’s say you do have a meditation practice. Yay! How’s it going? How often do you get to practice?
Some things you may not know about meditation:
It is not a religious practice, although many religions have a version of meditation
It can be a spiritual practice, but generally is not
It’s free
There is no wrong way to do meditate
You are not expected to sit down and just empty your brain of all thoughts
If you’re doing it at all, you’re doing it right
There are thousands, if not millions of free guided meditations on the internet
You can meditate anywhere (bus, plane, bed, car…)
You don’t need any special tools (a timer helps)
I want to know your barriers for starting a meditation practice or getting regular with it. I want to know your stumbling blocks and walls. Send your questions to me in the comments or in an email. I’ll come back to you next week with lots of answers.
In the meantime, here’s an intro to meditation.
You can also find it here.
K, thanks, see ya later.
I want to meditate more, but I need a guided meditation and there are so many app options out there. It’s tough to maintain and practice daily.
