Our language is in desperate need for a word
to describe the phenomenon where you’re faced with an extraordinary situation and you’re just barely holding your shit together, you think you have yourself under control until someone asks you if you are ok ; that sense of being cared about, of being seen, of not feeling alone busts the dam wide open and your eyes start leaking and your breathing gets wobbly.
I’m open to any suggestions for a name for this or a sciencey explanation as to why this happens.
