I left the lustily fragrant jasmine blooming outside my front door for a quick jaunt to NYC with Handsome Husband. The trip started as a quick concert in Brooklyn then morphed to spending the holiday with my family. We were not the only people who thought the week of Passover/Easter was a great time to visit the Big Apple. We walked heaps and ate a lot of brown-ish foods (scroll to bottom for crappy drawing). Hubbo didn’t get his Katz’s pastrami sandwich because there is zero joy in queuing behind 250 people for a sandwich when you’re already hangry.
Aside from navigating us while NOT being the people walking around with their full attention focused on their phone screen, I set myself a mission of finding little vignettes of joy. Looking for organic-ish moments, flower plantings and store displays were not allowed in this version.

Step counts:
Wednesday: 24, 314 steps or 10.1 miles
Thursday: 27,458 steps or 11.5 miles (with a 30# pack on my back bc I’m a shitty packer and also must travel with art supplies)
Friday: 20,679 or a mere 8.5 miles (also with stupid heavy pack)

Pro tip: in Manhattan, if you navigate your way to Eataly, there are gorgeous clean bathrooms and cannolli samples.

Of all the food groups, brown is my favourite.
